Why do we start at 5:00 AM?
Barramundi are often most active during the cooler morning hours.
The early start allows us to maximize fishing time during the most productive part of the day while avoiding some of the tropical afternoon heat.
Guests are typically picked up from their hotel around 5:00 AM and return around 4:00 PM.
Is this charter suitable for beginners?
Absolutely.
Many of our guests arrive having never caught a barramundi before. Some have never used artificial lures at all.
We provide coaching throughout the day and regularly help first-time anglers land their first wild barramundi.
Your guide has more than 20 years of fishing experience and over 10 years of coaching experience, allowing us to adapt the day to your skill level.

The main target species is wild barramundi.

This is wild fishing, so no two days are the same.
As a general guideline:
- Slow day: Around 2 fish
- Average day: Around 5 fish
- Great day: 10+ fish
Some days require patience and persistence. Other days can produce action throughout the entire session.
Because this is a natural fishery, we never guarantee catches.
What size fish do you normally catch?

The biggest barramundi landed on the charter weighed approximately 10 pounds, and we’ve also lost fish of similar size during the fight.

However, guests may keep a reasonable number of legal fish if they wish.

What kind of boat do we fish from?
We fish from a custom-built 6.5-meter flat-bottom vessel specifically designed for navigating shallow mangrove waterways.
The boat features:

Its design allows us to access areas that larger boats simply cannot reach.
Is there shade on the boat?
The boat itself does not have a roof.
However, much of the day is spent fishing beneath the natural shade provided by the mangrove trees.
We still strongly recommend sun-protective clothing.
Is there a toilet on the charter?
There are no restroom facilities in the mangrove forest.
Guests should be comfortable with basic outdoor conditions.
Nature provides the only bathroom option during the fishing portion of the day.
Is seasickness a concern?
No. The charter operates within protected mangrove waterways, not offshore.
Even guests who are normally prone to seasickness typically have no issues.
What wildlife might we see?
The mangrove forest is home to an impressive variety of wildlife.

Are there crocodiles in the mangroves?
No. There are no wild crocodile populations in the areas we fish.
Are snakes common?
Rare, but possible.

Are there months when fishing is more difficult?
Fishing is available year-round in Southern Vietnam.
However, April and May are typically the most challenging months. These are usually the hottest months of the year, just before the rainy season begins.
Fortunately, once the rains arrive, conditions often improve significantly and barramundi become more active.
Can non-fishing guests join?
Yes. Non-fishing partners, family members, and friends are welcome.
